Jackie Mastin
Jackie Mastin is Kitchen Kapers’ lead customer service representative. She is a true foodie and avid home chef. Growing up in a household that valued good food, Jackie’s introduction to cooking started at a young age. This education continued through her travels in the United States and Italy, which in turn helped her gain a job at two nationally-recognized food magazines based in New York City. Working as a food editor helped Jackie hone her skills as a home chef and further her culinary knowledge. However, with a growing curiosity in the kitchenware market and her insatiable addiction to kitchen gadgetry, she returned to her Garden State roots and began her career in the kitchenware retail sector with Kitchen Kapers. She spends her free time purchasing and testing new kitchen gadgets, creating and testing recipes and enjoying good food.
Ed Countey
Ed Countey is a District Manager and Special Events Facilitator with Kitchen Kapers. His extensive background in the restaurant industry began at the age of 16, although his interest in food began much earlier. As the ninth child in a family of eleven, it was necessary to help in meal preparation. From simple food preparation, the desire to create and prepare great food was born.
Over the course of the next 15 years, Ed worked in many fine dining establishments with many great chefs. His favorite was the Paradise Inn on Mount Rainier in Washington State. There, he prepared food using thermal energy from the mountain itself! Ed became the Executive chef of two restaurants in his career, elevating one of these from 2-star to 4-star quality.
During the mid 1990s, Ed became drawn to the quick rising coffee culture in America. Over the course of a year, he prepared soups and specialty foods for the first espresso café near his home. The café soon became a prominent destination in the community and his soups gained great notoriety. It was at this time that Ed’s love of coffee developed. In no time at all, Ed became the # 1 Barista and soon after, the Barista Trainer for the company. The café won the Best in State for coffee and espresso year after year and in 5 short years, the lone café grew to 15 stores.
In 2000, Ed started his tenure with Kitchen Kapers. He explains that he wanted to leave his work at the office and take home his hobby as reason for leaving the restaurant industry. At Kitchen Kapers, he uses his extensive culinary knowledge and coffee background to train the staff in his district. This becomes apparent to every customer that walks through the door. Ed says “it’s a wonderful position to be in when your job entitles you to talk about those things that you have developed such a great passion”.
Steven Albert
Steven Albert is a sales associate at the Kitchen Kapers Cherry Hill Mall location. Various stints in all facets of the local food/wine scene in southern New Jersey form his resume of service and a driving attention to the culinary needs of busy people. Steven’s ambition is to make the kitchen a key part of anyone’s home. He looks for solutions to make cooking easier for the “on-the-go” and “but its only me (or us) tonight” would-be chefs……And he hates doing the dishes too…….
Kitchen Kapers is truely a wonderful place to go and to work. The staff is always very knowledgable of products and the service they give is so rare in our fast paced, microwaved, I-Want-It-Now world. I firmly believe that if this type of business ever excells to the place of the big companies (William Sonoma for example) they would surely have a run for their money!
Every location has top notched talent waiting to burst from the boundaries of this fantastic establishment. Amy at Exton is always cheerful and helps with all customer needs. Olga and Clarence are bursting with years of experience and product knowledge that you will never be at a loss for information. James and Denise at the Paoli location are also knowledgable and add a clear distinction for the products you need to know about. Kirk in Center City is always helpful and is sure to point you in the right direction and if the store doesn’t carry the product he will be quick to find a location for you and have it shipped in. Sue in Suburban Square is a breath of fresh air for the stuffiness one often encounters on the “Main Line” but I have not seen her spirit daunted by any customer.
All in all Kitchen Kapers offers the type of shopping experience from the old days: Friendly staff, great products and EXCELLENT customer service (not to mention a free cup of coffee while you browse) I tell all my friends and family and plan on shopping with this company for a very long time.
Exceptional, curteous and a fun place to shop!

Love your store! My daughter always has at least one request from Kitchen Kapers on her Christmas list. I shop at the store in Princeton, but I’m sure they are all equally good. Staff is knowledgable and product selection can’t be beat.
